The Glaswegian Way to wellbeing

Thank you to everyone who completed our first survey as part of our Glaswegian Way to Wellbeing work funded by the Glasgow wellbeing fund. Over the coming months we will continue to build on what we hear. Transport and access to services were raised within the last survey and we would like to explore that in more detail. This link takes you to a new survey which only takes a few minutes to complete. We really appreciate when people make additional comments as this is really helpful. Thank you.

Too often we focus on what is wrong, or what others need to do to make it right, we also want to explore what is within our own control.

People make Glasgow not just a catchy slogan, it's a fact. Glaswegians are warm, friendly, welcoming, down to earth, have a great sense of humour and care about each other. Sometimes perhaps we forget that when all we hear is what is wrong, however, looking out for each other and this great city we can begin to refocus and build on what is right.

Simple things like not littering can make a big difference. Do you know, littering impacts our mental health? You may wonder why.  It is in part that litter creates a sense of disorder, we may even feel helpless or overwhelmed when we see litter as if our homes and communities have become a dumping ground. This can also have an impact on how safe we feel. It also does not reflect the pride we have in our communities and city when things look dirty and messy, also it does not encourage us to get outdoors and use our amazing parks and green spaces. You would not think something as simple as stopping littering can have an impact, but it can. You may find the piece we have put together on this of interest.

Not littering is something each of us as individuals have control over and perhaps inspire others as we lead by example not to use their neighbourhoods and cities as a bin, Glasgow and those who live and work in it deserve more than that, it is an amazing city, full of amazing people and over the next few months we want to capture what is great and what we can build on that showcases the Glaswegian Way to Wellbeing.

Hi, I’m Kirsty!

I love small businesses and working with business owners to build websites that support their dreams is such an awesome part of my job! Why let the huge faceless corporations have all the fun (and the money)? Your small business can make a huge difference but it needs a smart website to support it.
