Jigsaw Lid Engagement Tool

Understanding the Jigsaw Lid Engagement Tool

The Jigsaw Lid Engagement tool, developed by COPE Scotland, helps to capture diverse stakeholder priorities. This approach was initially devised during work around primary care transformation, where we required to understand different stakeholders' priorities around the supports needed for those experiencing moderate but enduring mental ill health. For a more detailed exploration of this work, please refer to the Reports from the Jigsaw project and a Mindmap.

By facilitating a collaborative platform, the tool allows stakeholders to share and align their priorities, ultimately leading to actionable strategies that address common concerns.

The Concept of the Jigsaw Lid

The metaphor of a "jigsaw lid" represents the individual perspectives each stakeholder brings to the table. Just as each jigsaw lid puzzle is unique, each stakeholder's viewpoint (Lid) is crucial in sharing and forming an understanding of what the collective see as essential pieces to address the issue being explored which are expressed by the many stakeholders involved which can then support plans for collaborative action in areas of commonality. The slides shared offer more detail and examples of the Lids in action.

This section also includes copies of the Lids created listening to stakeholders interested in the health and wellbeing of the people of MAKI.

  • Pieces identified to support people in an unpaid Caring role.

  • Pieces identified to support people who are new to an unpaid Caring role.

We have also provided editable copies of the Jigsaw Lids for effective networks and also the pieces to support health and wellbeing in MAKI which can be downloaded and added to your own toolkit for capturing diverse viewpoints.
