We kind of know that it's important to rest, but, when we have so many things happening we may find making time to rest is an issue. Then when we do get a moment we think of rest as doing nothing, even for a wee bit, which we try and do, but our mind keeps going over our to do list, or we feel guilty, or we would just like a break for 5min to have a cup of tea and not need to talk to anyone!
This little resource shares the many forms of rest which can exist and it's not all physical, though of course that is important. Becoming aware of the difference in types of rest, may help us to pick what form of rest is most useful for us at that time. Have a wee read, see what you think. It does not replace professional advice, just may offer some selfcare ideas to think about rest in new ways.
We also share a poster which may be helpful to discuss with your colleagues at work. The resource booklet also offers some ideas on what community rest stations could look like, places just to be even for a wee while and feel the knots release. Making time to rest is not indulgent, in fact, recharging our batteries is how we find the energy to keep going.
